This was a major job to extend this pretty traditional cottage to give the family more space. We built the new roof over the old one and then removed the old roof to give a large living space within. We used the crane to lift the steel roof cradle on and to lift heavy materials on to the first floor.
As well as the large extension on the back of the cottage, we also built a porch on the front of the house and took down a dividing wall between the kitchen and dining room to give a better flow to the downstairs area. A glass spiral staircase was also installed.
